It’s true. We’re really into our morning juice. It’s a great way to get all those essential things people say make you healthy(er). I nabbed a base model Jack LaLanne Power Juicer for the other half this past Christmas (and then Jack up and died a few weeks later – hoping our purchase had nothing to do with that) and since then we have used it almost daily. I figure if the inventor could pull a row boat with his teeth while swimming, we could hope for awesome results to.
Though I don’t even know where I would want to give that stunt a try, I do love the look of the counter filled with fruit and veg at the beginning of the week.
Husbands morning juice: 1 beet, 1 apple, 2 large carrots, 2 celery stalks and 1 tomato.
My favorite: 2 oranges, 1 apple, 1 beet and sometimes a few blueberries.
Another super cool benefit to juicing? All of the mashed up veggie stuff left in the discard container is perfect for composting either inside or out. You can also collect and freeze the veggies to simmer down for vegetable stock later. And though it’s no secret that I’m not a fan of cleaning it, I do love how great I feel after my vitamin packed glass every morning.
